Martin Spieß

Martin Spieß, born in Stuttgart in 1962, had his first accordion lessons at the age of 8. From the age of 12, the first stage appearances followed. From 1982-1985 he completed his studies at the Hohner Conservatory in Trossingen. He was co-founder of the "Arbeitskreis Volksmusik" in the Landesmusikrat Baden-Württemberg and can look back on many years of activity as a seminar leader and lecturer, among others in the Landesakademie Ochsenhausen and at Schloss Weikersheim, in the field of "traditional folk music".

 

From 1990-2001 he was accordionist and keyboardist in the dance and accompanying orchestra "Maryland Showband" and "Edelweiss Express". Gala engagements took place at the SWR Ball in Stuttgart, the Oktoberfest in Munich and the Paulaner Oktoberfest in Bangkok, as well as live accompaniments of major shows with stars such as Carmen Nebel, Jürgen Drews, Peter Kraus, Andy Borg, Ireen Sheer and many more. The performances took place in the Olympic Stadium in Munich, the Cologne Arena or the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle an der Saale.

 

In addition, Martin Spieß was a jury member at countless accordion competitions. Since 2011 he has been involved in the direction of 4 club orchestras, he also gives accordion lessons and is an active co-founder of the music cabaret duo "Schoofseggl", the only dialect duo with their own type of beer.
