Joanne Bialek-Tan

Joanne Bialek-Tan

Joanne Bialek-Tan studied accordion at the Conservatoire Mulhouse in her native France in the class of Christine and Andrzej Rytwinski. She then studied music education at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in the class of Prof. Grzegorz Stopa, where she successfully completed her bachelor's degree in 2017.

She taught at the Guebwiller Music School in France and has also been giving private lessons in France and Germany for years. Through her ever-growing curiosity and broad interest, she accompanies her students in all kinds of musical genres, from classical to folk music, from traditional to contemporary repertoire - and is always very open to new suggestions.

Her own musical focus includes original solo works for classical accordion (Nordheim, Takahashi, Solotarev and others.m), baroque works (Scarlatti, Haendel, Bach), as well as so-called "program music" -- including her own compositions. She prefers to perform in the context of interdisciplinary collaboration with other art forms such as literature or theatre. In addition, she has inspirations to thank her homeland and always likes to interpret pieces from the musette or chanson repertoire.
