Robert Schumann composed 'Album für die Jugend' op. 68 and many other piano pieces in 1848. His wife Clara wrote in her diary that he had the idea for these pieces while hearing the educational literature (he named it 'low quality works'). The accordionist should have the opportunity to play these popular and successful pieces as well. This is the reason why Ralf Brendle chose six of Schumann's pieces to arrange them for accordion orchestra and/or ensemble. The movements can be played separately or completely in a suite (in mixed order).
